The Goa Staff Selection Commission is a body constituted under the statute of State Legislature, the Goa Staff Selection Commission Act, 2019. The Commission advises the Government on such matters as may be referred to it by the Government.

The requisitions from the Government are received in the form of proposals indicating the number of vacancies in a particular post in a department or cadre. The mode of filling up the posts is by direct recruitment inviting applications from the eligible candidate from open market. The recruitment is strictly governed and guided by Recruitment Rules framed by the Government under Article 309 of the Constitution. The Commission shall publish advertisements by notifying the number of vacancies with requirements of essential qualifications and experience as per the Recruitment Rules.
